GAZ-18

Produced in 1959. It was designed for invalids of the Second World War. It has 0,5 liter two-cylinder engine and automatic gearbox. It was only produced as experimental model — it never went into mass production.

  2. Production of this car did not went to ZAZ, it was just discontinued. At that time the USSR did not have a suitable plant for this model:(
As i know two copies of GAZ-18 were built in 1958.

  3. Hi, thanks for the comment. I wrote that it didn’t go to production as GAZ-18 in ZAZ factory. ZAZ produced ZAZ-965 that look very similar to this car. Although I’m not 100% sure if it was technically based on this car or rather on Fiat-600. When I have some time I’ll look into it and modify article to explain it better.

    Best,
