Pro­duced in 1938. This GAZ-M1 based race car is he fastest Soviet race car before the war.  Orig­i­nal GAZ-M1 engine was boosted to 65 hp instead of 50 hp. After some test­ing a new 6 cylin­der 100 hp engine from GAZ-11 was installed and some details were redesigned (new wheel caps, dome abouve driver’s head, rounded grill plat­ing). With orig­i­nal 65 hp engine the top speed was 148 km/h but when 100 hp engine was installed the top speed was 162 km/h!

GAZ-55 sim­pli­fied version

Pro­duced 1938–1945. In 1942 it was sim­pli­fied by remov­ing one head­light and redesign­ing spoil­ers. Its based on GAZ-AA. It was mostly used as ambu­lance in World War II. It room for 10 peo­ple or 6 wounded. Over­all 9130 units were produced.

Pro­duced 1938–1946. Because of con­di­tion of roads or lack of roads in some areas rus­sians needed a way to trans­port goods. They com­bined GAZ-AA with Citroen-Kegress half­tracks and named it GAZ-60. How­ever real­i­bil­ity of this truck was bad and the engine was underpowered.
