GAZ-42

Produced 1939–1946. Total 33 840 units were produced. This truck is based on GAZ-AA but is powered by gas generator that uses firewood (or coal) to produce gas that powers the engine. Because of this it has low power and speed, it is difficult to service and not so easy to start up. But because the lack of gasoline in some north regions this truck was unsubstitutable.
