Pro­duced 1968–85. Dur­ing that time it went through sev­eral updates. First pro­to­types were built already in 1966. GAZ-24 “Volga” is one of the most famous Soviet cars. It was exported to many coun­tries and had many mod­i­fi­ca­tions. I’ll cre­ate posts about dif­fer­ent gen­er­a­tions sep­a­rate­lyl soon.

Pro­duced in 1968. Also called Nami-107 “Vasilek” (which means corn­flower in Rus­sia) This is the first front wheel drive car in Rus­sia. The engine ihas 45 hp and placed in front in trans­verse posi­tion. How­ever it remained an experimet­nal model and never went into mass production.

Pro­duced 1968–1989. PAZ-672 is the base model. It was (and per­haps still is?) one of the most com­mon pub­lic trans­porta­tion in Russ­ian sub­urbs and rural areas. There are sev­eral mod­i­fi­ca­tions like:

PAZ-672G — meant for moun­tain­ous areas, it has 2x105L fuel tanks, seat belts, extra breaks and power steer­ing.
PAZ-672U for trop­i­cal cli­mate and
PAZ-672S for north­ern cli­mate
PAZ-3202S for north­ern cli­mate with four-wheel drive (I tink)
PAZ-3201 for rought ter­rain. It was pro­duced 1972–1989, had four-wheel drive and its weight is 4860 kg.
PAZ-3742 was cargo bus ver­sion, it 4000 kg empty and can carry pay­load up to 2500 kg. Its also lit­tle bit longer mea­sur­ing 7320 mm

Pro­duced 1968-?. It was orig­i­nally named ZIL-135 but ZIL only pro­duced a few exper­i­men­tal ver­sions of this truck. Main pro­duc­tion was in Bryansk. BAZ-135 was mil­i­tary ver­sion and BAZ-135 L4 was civil ver­sion flatbed truck. Inter­est­ingly first and last pair of wheels were used for steering.
