GAZ-AA simplified version

Produced 1932 -- 1938. Wheels 4x2. Its based on Ford AA truck. It was made as lightweight as possible. There are many modifications of GAZ AA like firetruck, prisontruck, ambulance etc. Alltogether over 1 million units were built.

During the WW2 simplified version was built to save materials. For example it only had one headlamp and its roof was made of canvas.

Produced 1956-1970. Its more known by its famous name Volga and its one of the most famous Soviet cars.

There are many modifications of this car (some with more powerful engines). These will be added here later. A little known fact: some Volgas were had automatic gearbox!

GAZ-51Zh produced 1954-1975. This model has ability to run on liquid gas (it also has original gasoline system). It is fitted with 145 kg liquified gas tank.

Produced 1936-1942. Its based on 1933 Ford-V8-40 but was first soviet car engineered to withstand local roads. It has hydraulic suspension and new better shock absorbers. Name M-1 comes from the foreign minister V. M. Molotov (Molotov-no. 1). It was the furst russian car to have automatic ignition and adjustable front seats. Because of letter M it was often called “Emka”. In 1939 engine ventilation holes were modified. Total 62 888 units were produced.

VAZ-21107 -- rally version with 2 liter Opel engine (240 hp, top speed 220 km/h)
VAZ-21108 -- stretched version produced by car tuners. Known as Lada Premier. It has 1,6 liter 16V MPI engine. Also armored version VAZ-211082 is made
VAZ-21109 -- stretched “imousine” version named “Consul” with 300 mm longer wheelbase. Also some luxury equipment added
