Produced 1986-2001. In western countries its known as Lada Aleko or Aleko 141 other name that were used in Soviet countries were AZLK-2141. Its predecessor of Moskvich 2140. Its first Moskvich to have front wheel drive (at the time of design it was the first russian front wheel drive but since the design took long time Lada Samara was the first front wheel drive car actually produced). Compared to its predecessor Moskvich 2141 is much more spacious, comfortable and safe. Its the first time the car was actually aerodynamically tested and modified accordingly. All this work resulted haveing drag coeficient 0,35. By the way Moskvich 2141 is NOT original design — its copied from car called Simca 1307 (French). The old Moskvich 2140 engine had to be fitted for front wheel drive. It was done using Audi 100 as an example. Audi 100 design was used in other areas as well.
In third picure is Moskvich 2141 Sibir — Moskvich 2141 with tracks instead of wheels. I think it was just a prototype.
Info here ise based on original engine. Later more powerful 1,5-2 liter engines and also 1,8 and 1,9 liter diesel engines were used.
