This is an interesting experimental model built in 1970. Eningeers wanted to make a bus with low floor – 360 mm. First prototyp had 4 axles. First two axles steer and rear two axles drive. Because the bus floor was so low they couldn’t use normal cardan. They used electric motors on rear axles. The enine as in the front with electric generator. First prototype was named LAZ-360 EM (as electric)
This design (obviously) turned out to be complicated and new prototype was made.
This time it was a normal 2 axle bus. It had normal front wheel drive and now it was named LAZ-360.
These prototypes had 170 hp engine. Lenght of the bus is 11 000 mm.
These busses were so much ahead of its time. Low floor busses came a few decades later. Too bad it remained a prototype only.
